Vernon was a manager with Coca Cola and retired as a manager at City Beer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was very talkative and liked telling stories. Vernon was a Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Humbertson-Twyman (Michael); one grandchild, Autumn Humbertson Grogan (Ryan); and one great-grandchild, Sawyer Jackson Grogan.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Lee Douglas Copen; two brothers, John and Harold Copen; and four sisters, Madge Bird, Helen Pifer, Elsie Flinn and Pearl Copen.
To honor Vernon’s wishes, there will be not services or visitation. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2333 Pike St, South Parkersburg is assisting the family.
