Retired Carpenter,
Dies; Rites Set

Casper Nacke, 85, of Effingham a retired carpenter, died Sunday at a Kankakee hospital where he had been a patient since March 1 of this year.
Born in Teutopolis on March 1, 1886, he was a son of the late Casper and Mary Gardewine Nacke. His wife, the former Elizabeth Koester, died Jan. 20, 1960. The couple had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on May 5, 1958.
Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Ed (Agnes) Deters, Teutopolis; Mrs. George (Bernadine) Kinkelaar, Mrs. Wesley (Mildred) Stumeier, and Joseph Nacke, all of Effingham; Louis of Marengo, Casper Jr., of Arcola and Donald of Mesa, Ariz.
Also surviving are a brother, Harry of Effingham; sisters, Miss Anna Nacke and Mrs. Clara Koester, both of Teutopolis, and Mrs. Kittie Boyle of Mercer, Wis.; 38 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.
The body is at Johnson funeral home where friends may call after noon Tuesday and where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony church.
