Effingham – Joseph L. Nacke, 80, of Effingham died at 8:52 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 1992, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a Forth Degree Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m. and a parish wake service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Building Fund or Schools.
Mr. Nacke was born Feb 18, 1912, in Effingham, the son of Casper and Elizabeth (Koester) Nacke. He married his wife, Elsie, 1932 in Teutopolis.
He was a former co-owner/operator, with his wife, of Nacke Grocery; was later employed by Niebrugge Lumber Co. for 25 years; was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Forth Degree of Effingham council of Knights of Columbus, and Holy Name Society, having served as president and helped organize St. Anthony Boosters Club.
Surviving are his wife; son, Thomas of Milford, Mich; daughters, Mrs. Bill (Anne) Martens of Roswell, Ga., Mrs. Ron (Joyce) Kabbes of Effingham; brothers Don and Louis both of Mesa, Ariz., Casper Jr. of Arcola; sisters, Mrs. George (Bernadine) Kinkelaar and Mildred Stumeier both of Effingham: 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
