ROBERT L. COOKSEY DIES AT ELKHART
Funeral services for Robert Lee Cooksey,, 82, a retired farmer of Route 2, Elkhart, will be held in the Elkhart Church of Christ Wednesday at 2 p.m. Archie Waldrum, pastor of the Crockett Road Church of Christ and Blake Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in the Elkhart Cemetery.
Mr. Cooksey, a native of Weches in Houston County, died at his home Tuesday at 7:40 a.m. following a short illness.
The body will be at the residence in Elkhart prior to being carried to the church for funeral services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Cooksey is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ivy Womack Cooksey of Elkhart; eight sons, Archie, Charlie, Hubert and Johnny, all of Houston, Edward, Woodrow, Frank and Albert, all of Elkhart; two daughters, Mrs. J. H. Cook of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Fannie Hickman of Elkhart; a brother, Tommy Cooksey of Elkhart; 44 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
The House they lived in Elkhart Texas is still standing today.I remember the house because I use to go and stay with Great Grandmother Mary Ivy Womack
