Charlie L. Cooksey
Services for Charlie L. Cooksey, 85, of Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel with Perry Jones and Woodrow Cooksey officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart.
Mr. Cooksey died Monday at Elkhart Manor Nursing Home.
He was born March 17, 1903, in Houston County, a son of Robert Lee and Mary Wommack Cooksey. A retired carpenter, Mr. Cooksey was a member of Elkhart Church of Christ and Elkhart Masonic Lodge No. 400.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Gannon Cooksey of Elkhart; daughters, Ivy Laverne Spencer of Elkhart, Charlene Clark of Houston, Donna Kay Pope of Palestine, Idell Gibson of Midland and Margie Williams of Clearwater, Fla.; sons, Eddie Lee Cooksey of Austin, Wayne Gannon of Elkhart and John Gannon of Malakoff; sisters, ‘Annie May Cook and Fannie camp, both of California; brothers, Edward Cooksey of California, Woodrow Cooksey of Chandler and Hubert Cooksey of Flint; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Cooksey, Don Cooksey, Johnny Sutherlin, Michael Gannon, Richard Gannon and Tim Gannon.
