Mrs. C. L. Stephens, who has been ill for a number of years, departed this life Sunday morning at her home on north Second Street. Mrs. Stephens has resided in this count with her husband for a number of hers having lived at Americus before moving to this city. The funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 a.m. and the remains were laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.

Caroline Grimmett was born in Glostershire, England, February 20, 1835. She was married to C. L. Stephens in 1860.

Mr. Stephens and family came to America in 1872.

Mrs. Stephens was converte4d in early life and united with the M. E. Church of which she was a member for 54 years.

She departed this life July 20, 1907, aged 72 years, 5 months.

She leaves a husband and four children to mourn the loss of a wife and mother. She is not dead but just gone on before.
