Mrs. Dock Lawson Passes Away
Martha Ellen Miller Lawson, born Jan. 26, 1871, died Oct. 10, 1952 at the age of 81 years, eight months and 16 days. She was the daughter of Foster and Martha Miller. She was united in Marriage to Dock Lawson in 1892, who preceded her in death. To this union were born 11 children, six of whom preceded her in death; Betty Wardrip, Florence Wardrip, Emily Pack, Joseph Lawson, Julia Jones and an Infant. Surviving are David, Richard, Bill and Frank of Brandenburg and Mrs. Graham Pack of Valley Station: two sisters, Mrs. Will Pack and Mrs. Bert Board of Meade County; one brother, George Miller of Valley Station; three half sisters, Miss Elsie Miller, Mrs. George Elmer Jones and Mrs. James Powell; one half brother, Jack Miller; 49 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held at Weldon Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Dr. W.W. Slider. Burial was in the church cemetery (Bethel) with Wright Funeral Home in charge.
