KATIE PEARL JONES, 89, Weldon community of Brandenburg, died Sept. 19, 2004, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Meade County Jan. 23, 1915, the daughter of Elijah Foster Miller and Rosa Mae Bishoff Miller.

She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she held many leadership positions. She also loved gardening and growing flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Elmer Jones; two sons, Bobby Lee Jones and Phillip Wayne Jones; two grandchildren, Bradley Jason Jones and Diana Faye Jones; and a great-granddaughter, Ashlee Ann Jones. Mrs. Jones is survived by five children, Diane McCullough, Elizabethtown, Ronald E. Jones and William M. Jones, both of Brandenburg, Garry E. Jones, West Liberty, and Connie Faye Thomas, Ekron; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. from Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Pallbearerswill be Bryan Jones, Bruce Jones, Matthew McCullough, Tim Jones, Darren Jones, John Jones, James "Pete" Jones and Jason Thomas. Expressions of sympathymay take the form of contributions to the Bethel United Methodist Church building fund.
