Virginia Mae Mifflin Smith, age 89, died on Monday, February 17, 2020 in Petaluma California.
She was born on a farm in Smithfield, Utah to Benjamin and Ethel Mae Kingwell Mifflin and was one of ten children. The family moved to San Francisco in the mid 1930's, where Virginia went to Mission High School. She met and fell in love with John Everett Smith and got married on May 12, 1946 in San Francisco.
From her birth to her death, she encouraged and cultivated those around her with love, knowledge, faith, and service. She loved to go on road trips with her beloved husband. She enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing and crocheting.
Left to honor and remember her are their children, Michael and Sherry. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Mifflin Carso and Laurie Mifflin Harper, grandchildren Arianne, Suzanne, Justine, Martin and Melissa; great-grandchildren Olivia, Isabella, Mae, Katarina, Hannah, Rain, Tristan, and Vincent.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, brother David, sisters Constance, Joyce, Audrey, Mona, Geri and Nancy.
Virginia will be remembered as a bright shining light in the church and various communities she served in.
A private burial service will be held on February 25 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery under the direction of Adobe Creek Funeral Home, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma, California.
