Obituary
Patricia Joan Carso of Granite Bay passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the age of 94, surrounded by her family. Pat was born in Smithfield, Utah on April 30, 1928 to Benjamin and Ethel Mae Mifflin and was one of nine sisters. The family moved to San Francisco in the mid 1930's and in 1946, following World War II, Pat married Lawrence Carso. They had two children and remained in SF for 42 years. In the 1970's Pat joined the California Bonsai Federation of Hillsborough, where she served as a Board Member and would travel to Japan to tour private residences of numerous Bonsai Masters. She Retired from AT&T in 1985 and by 1988 she and her husband moved to Granite Bay where Pat joined the AT&T Pioneers (a Volunteer Network) participating in numerous community services, including the Veterans and the Children's Sacramento Receiving Home. Pat had a great love for Broadway and enjoyed many seasons of plays in San Francisco and Sacramento's Performing Arts. Pat had an enormous love for children and spent most of her retirement enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as traveling, gardening, crafts, poetry, and writing.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence Carso. She will be greatly missed by her son, Bruce Carso; her Daughter, Diane (& Dennis) Baynes; Grandchildren, Bruce & Eric Carso, Amber (& Warren) Gravely, Carrie (& Chris) Lange, Jim (& Anna) Baynes, and Jeni (& Sean) O'Brien; great grandchildren, Talor & Julienne Tadena, Ally & Scott Carso, Warren & Kylen Gravely, Sawyer & Donovan O'Brien and Emma & Jimmy Baynes; Sister, Laurie Harper; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat will be laid to rest with her husband in a private burial service to be held at Cypress lawn Memorial in Colma, California, followed by a Celebration of Life in San Francisco. Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
