I did not create this memorial but will manage it responsibly. Would love to find her actual burial. I keep looking. Martha appears to have died in Wayne County, Illinois between 1860 and 1870. Her exact death and burial remain unknown as does that of her husband who died after 6/23/1880 when the 1880 census was completed. Most likely both were buried somewhere in Wayne County, Illinois.
Martha Ann Whitson married John Guthrie Marshall about 1836. In the 1880 Wayne County, Illinois, John, widower, was living with daughter Mary and son-in-law, William Smith and their children.
In the 1870 Wayne County, Illinois census John is a widower, living with 2 daughters, Elizabeth, 20 and Mary, 16.
In 1860 John and Martha are living in Wayne County, Illinois with 6 children: Benjamin, John, Nancy, Amanda, Elizabeth and Mary.
