Gladys McKee, 84, died Saturday night at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, Calif. She was a resident of Sylmar, Calif.
She was born in Bartholomew County Feb. 15, 1905, to John Wesley Coy and Hannah Melissa (Milnes) Coy. She married Ellis McKee May 29, 1929. He died in 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Hannah Dyke of Sylmar and Joyce Smith of Franklin; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by six brothers and eight sisters.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Oceanside, Calif., a former member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church and a past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post 233 in Edinburgh.
The Rev. Nancy Chizmar will conduct a private graveside service Friday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Long Funeral Home in Edinburgh. A memorial service will take place Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
