Lora Coy, 82, dies, services are Monday
Funeral rites for Mr. Lora Coy, of route four Franklin will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mutz Funeral Home in Edinburg with Rev. Ray Bozell officiating. Burial will be made in Rest Haven Cemetery. Personal may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Coy died Saturday morning in Johnson County Memorial Hospital. Seven children and eight brothers survive. Mr. Coy was 82 years old.

LORA COY, 84, DIES TODAY
EDINBURG – Lora Coy, 84, of Franklin route 4 died today at Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Franklin after a 5-week illness. Mr. Coy had been a farmer all his life.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mutz Funeral Home by the Rev. Ray Bozell. Persons may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Rest Haven.
Mr. Coy was born in Bartholomew County Nov. 6, 1887, the son of John Wesley and Melissa Milnes Coy. In 1908 he married the former Miss Mina McKee who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Hansel Coy and Dennis Lee Coy, both of Franklin, Clifford Coy, Nineveh, and Denzil Neal Coy of Columbus route 4; three daughters, Mrs. Carmen Freese of Edgewood, Mrs. Etheleen Voris of Greenwood and Mrs. Mercedes Park of Nineveh; a brother, Emerson Coy of Shelbyville; seven sisters, Mrs. Cora Clark and Mrs. Lena Waltz of Trafalger, Mrs. Delea Galey of Columbus, Mrs. Arie Fordyce of Edinburg, Mrs. Bessie Campbell and Mrs. Esma Campbell of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Gladys McKee of Oceanside, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
