Emerson Coy, retired farmer, dies today

Emerson Coy, 89, 510 Anel Drive, died at 5:15 a.m. today in the Morgan County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He had moved to this area 12 years ago from Morgantown. He was a retired farmer and was a World War I army veteran.

A native of Bartholomew County, he was born Feb. 19, 1896. On April 5, 1973, he married Monzell Fern Clark, and she survives. Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Irmalee Adams of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and two sisters.

His funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Neal and Summers Mortuary, where friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Sunday.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

EMERSON COY, MARTINVILLE

Emerson Coy, 89, Martinsville, died early Friday morning at Morgan County Hospital in Martinsville.

He was born Feb. 19, 1896, in Bartholomew County. He married Monzell Fern (Clark) Coy April 5, 1973. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and member of Friendship Church near Edinburgh. He was a World War I Army veteran.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Neal and Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. Sunday until the service.

Other survivors include a step-daughter, Irmalee Adams of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
