"Benjamin Biss died at his home on Henry Street, Penn Yan, Tuesday afternoon May 18 after a short illness of heart trouble and other complications, aged 69 years. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Welles Hill of Geneva, two sons, Douglas and William T. of Painted Post, one granddaughter, one grandson and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Sunday, Rev. W. H. Wheatley officiating. Burial was made in Lake View Cemetery. Mr. Biss came to Penn Yan from England in 1872 and had resided in Penn Yan ever since."
