Joining her husband, who had gone ahead in 1905, Marie arrived in Canada aboard the SS Laurentian on April 13, 1906 with six of their family of nine children, ranging in ages from one to thirteen. Three of their children either passed away prior to the voyage (i.e., Marie-Josephe and Marie-Anne [1901]) or were left behind temporarily (Marie-Mathurine) in France in the care of other family members to attend school.
They had no more children in Canada. The circumstances of her death so soon after her arrival in Canada remain to be clarified.
