Isabel M. Mullenbach, age 85 of Adams, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Adams Health Care Center.

Isabel Marie was born August 25, 1934 in Stacyville, Iowa to Perry and Mary (Elgas) Elliott. During her childhood, Isabel’s family lived in Stacyville, Iowa before settling in Adams, Minnesota. She attended Sacred Heart school in Adams, and graduated with the Class of 1952 from Adams High School. On June 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Clifford Ernest Mullenbach at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. Isabel and Clifford made their home and raised their family in Johnsburg. She was also busy working with her husband in their family business, Cliff’s Electric in Adams and Johnsburg.

Isabel was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg where she was active in the liturgy committee and C.C.W., served as a Eucharistic minister, and quilted for missions. She was the president of the local Catholic Aid Assoc. for many years. Isabel was a dedicated homemaker, enjoyed baking, sewing, canning, and crafts and worked alongside Cliff at many renovation projects. She was creative and had a love of music and singing, a talent she developed at a very young age and continued throughout her life.

At the center of her life was her unwavering faith, and undying love for her family. She will be remembered for her endless compassion, dignity, and grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifford in 1996; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Gerianne Mullenbach; siblings and in-laws Orian and Walter Brown, Doris and Ellis Douty, Myrna Bissen, Carol and John Vogel, Pauline and Norbert Blaser, Dean and Virginia Elliott, John Elliott, Delores Delaney, Chuck Mullenbach and Sister Dorothy Mullenbach .

Isabel is survived by her children, Laura (Randy) Freund of Johnsburg, Audrey (Galen) Hemann of Rose Creek, Aaron (Michelle) Mullenbach of Nevis, Harvey Mullenbach of Johnsburg, Holly (Steve) Sandon of Watertown, SD; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred Bissen of Stacyville, IA; sister-in-law, Theresa Elliott of Rolling Stone; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to Mass, at church. There will be a 4:00 p.m. Rosary, and 7:00 p.m. parish prayer service Friday at the funeral home.
