Dean F. Elliott, 84 of Adams, MN, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Grand Meadow Health Care Center.

Dean Francis Elliott was born October 28, 1929 at Stacyville, Iowa the son of Perry and Mary (Elgas) Elliott. He attended area schools and married Virginia Mary Freund on April 26, 1951 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Johnsburg, MN. The Elliotts farmed in the Adams area and Dean was also a metal fabricator. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he sang in the church choir.

Dean enjoyed his life on the farm and also liked gardening, dancing, singing and laughing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He liked to tinker on the farm and was an excellent welder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Orian Brown, Myrna Bissen, Carol Vogel, Pauline Blaser, Alice who died at age two and an infant brother Michael.

Dean is survived by his wife of 63 years Virginia Elliott, Adams, MN; children: Kathryn and Dano Lange, Rochester, MN, Paul Elliott, New Prague, MN, Ann and Richard Soltau, LeRoy, MN, Sharon O’Connor, Bloomington, MN, Ronald Elliott, Rochester, MN, Denise and Timothy Baker, Rosemount, MN, Margene and Brent Gunderson, Austin, MN; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister: Isabel Mullenbach, Johnsburg, MN, Doris Douty, Adams, MN; brother: John Elliott, Altura, MN; nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, social workers, aides, Chaplin, and staff at St. Croix Hospice, Grand Meadow Health Care Center and Mayo Clinic Health System in Adams for their excellent care.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 30th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Johnsburg, MN. There will be a 6:30 PM prayer service at the Adams Funeral Home on Wednesday , where visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday morning for one hour before the service.
