Dalton DeGuire, 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at a local nursing center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope with pastors, Louis Brewer, Rufus Wilson and Bill Sutton officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th Street.

Mr. DeGuire was born December 20, 1927, in O'Donnel, Texas. He lived most of his life in Abilene. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Foster Grandparents Program at the Abilene State School for 12 years.

Survivors include two sons, David DeGuire and wife Manuela of Germany and Doyle DeGuire of Abilene; a daughter, Dorothy DeGuire of Abilene; a brother, Reverend James Robert DeGuire of Albany, Georgia; a sister, Louise Brooks of Tuscola; and two grandchildren.

Mr. DeGuire was preceded in death by his wife, Delores DeGuire; a son, Donnley DeGuire; a sister, Alice Brooks; and his parents.

A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
