Tuscola: Louise Brooks, 90, wen to be with the Lord Monday, January 25, 2016. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her journey from her earthly home to her heavenly home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm at the First Baptist Church of Tuscola on Thursday, January 28, 2016, officiated by DeWayne Bush, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27 from 5-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery after the service at 3:30.
Mary Louise Brooks was born on Tuesday June 2, 1925 to David and Vermelle DeGuire of Abilene. Louise graduated from Abilene High School in 1944, she married her love Delbert Brooks on December 2, 1950
She worked as a nursing clerk at Hendrick Medical Center for eighteen years.
Louise was a avid painter, she loved to paint in water colors, and loved to write poems about God's miracles. She was active in her church and faithful reader of her family Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Delbert Brooks, daughter, Liz Brooks, son, Delbert "Bubba" Brooks, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by, daughters, Rita Dick (Frank) of Tuscola and Ann Davenport of Stephenville; son, Jimmy Brooks of Lawn; one brother, Jim DeGuire of Savannah, Georgia; six grand children, 9 1/2 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
