Funeral services for Mr. Charles Raymond Blaylock of Winona will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, at New Hope United Methodist Church near Winona, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Sam Dodd and Rev. John Lumbley will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Adam Blaylock, Justin Parson, Anthony Mosconi, Timmy Matthews, Dell Blaylock, and Jonathan Hardin.
Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until service time, at the church.
Mr. Blaylock, 83, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford on Friday, October 4, 2019. He was born in Grenada County on July 29, 1936, and was the son of the late Lonnie Roger and Winnie Lou Stanley Blaylock. He was a retired agent with American General Life Insurance Company and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Blaylock was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #52 in Winona. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Dees Blaylock; daughter, Vickie Marie Parson; son, Donald Edward Blaylock; sister, Mary Matthews; and a brother, Lonnie Blaylock.
Mr. Blaylock is survived by his son, Mark Blaylock and wife, Sherry, of Vaiden; brother, Philip Blaylock and wife, Mary, of Madison; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
