Mrs. John Held Dies - Mrs. John Held passed away at the family home, 1571 Twenty-ninth avenue, at 2 p.m. today, her death being due to pernicious anemia with which she had been afflicted since last March. She had been bedfast for the past week, her strength gradually ebbing. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made. Further details will probably be available for publication tomorrow.
Funeral Sunday - The funeral of Mrs. John Held, whose death occurred at the family home, 1571 Twenty-ninth avenue, at 2 p.m. yesterday, will be held at the First Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. A. Albright, officiating. Burial will be made in Columbus cemetery. Mrs. Held was a member of one of the pioneer families of Colfax county. As Louisa Marie Grotelueschen, daughter of John H. Grotelueschen, she was born in Wisconsin Feb. 14, 1869. During her infancy the family moved to Nebraska, locating in Colfax county. Her marriage to John Held took place Feb. 22, 1887. They made their home on a farm northeast of Columbus until 1908, when they moved to Nance county where they spent seven years. At the end of that period they retired from active farm life, establishing their home in Columbus. Besides her husband, Mrs. Held leaves three sons and four daughters--Otto Held, of Columbus; Ed Held, of Palmer, Neb.; Frank Held of Schuyler; Mrs. Ralph Cunningham, of Palmer; Mrs. Albert Mueller, of Columbus; Mrs. Albert Russell, of Fullerton, and Miss Anna Held, at home. One son, Ernst, died in 1910 at the age of 16 years. Mrs. Held also leaves two brothers and four sisters. Her final illness dated back to last March when she experienced a week's siege of influenza, from which pernicious anemia developed.
