Elnora Muzettie Stout Streed, age 81, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, April 3rd, at the First Christian Church in Sac City. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2nd, at the funeral home.

Elnora was born on August 16, 1924, in Sac City, the daughter of Preston Cecil and Louise Emma Christina (Klindt) Stout. She grew up in Sac City attending Sac City Elementary and graduating from Sac City High School with the class of 1942. She continued her education at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.

She was baptized on July 17, 1938, and confirmed at the First Christian Church in Sac City where she remained a lifetime member, serving as a Deacon and an active member of the women's Ruth Group.

On November 11, 1945, Elnora was united in marriage to George E. Streed. Being a farmwife and caring for her four children: David, Esther, Mark, and Mary, was a full time job and a job that she loved. In her younger years she worked in ready to wear and dry goods stores in Sac City and in later years at the hardware store, as a bookkeeper/receptionist for a petroleum company, and at DaLe Monogram Shop. She supervised delivery of the Storm Lake Newspaper for sixteen years.

On December 26, 1981, Elnora was married to Ralph Werkmeister. They made their home in Sac City.

Elnora's artistic talents with fabric showed in the many personalized and beautiful gifts she made for family members and friends. She loved music, singing in the choir at church, dancing, and playing the piano. Elnora cherished their family gatherings with her brothers, children, and grandchildren, the family meals, and laughter of the grandchildren running around the house.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Werkmeister; her children, David Streed and wife Suzan of Lafayette, CO; Dr. Esther Streed of Urbandale, IA; Mark Streed and wife Candy of Lafayette, CO; and Mary Streed of Parker, CO; 10 grandchildren: James, David, Angi, Rachel, Renee, Jenny, Shari, Brian, Angie, and Nate; 18 great-grandchildren; her brother, Harlan Stout of Minneapolis, MN; and many extended family members.

Elnora was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Preston Stout; and grandson, Daren Streed.
