Funeral services for Preston C. Stout were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30 at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Rev. Gary Wagner officiating. Music was furnished by Frank Pontious and accompanist, Mrs. Frank Pontious. Floral tributes were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Willard Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ammer and Marjo Florist. Attendants were Charles Harker, Louis H. Peyton, Leonard Boysen, Keith Hines, Donavon Rehm and Richard Brown. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Sac City.
Preston Cecil Stout was born Aug. 4, 1900 in Sac County and passed away Sept. 27, 1974 in Sac City of a heart attack. His parents were George W. and Muzettie M. Stout. Preston C. Stout was a member of the First Christian Church in Sac City. He was a lifelong resident of the Sac City area except for a few years in his boyhood days when the family resided in Manning and Spencer. He was married to Louise Klindt January 16, 1924. Since 1951 he has operated a leather and canvas repair business in Sac City. Prior to that he engaged in construction work and farming. Survivors include four sisters, Della (Mrs. Leslie Pangle of Nemaha), Cora (Mrs. Chester Hott of Sac City), Beulah (Mrs. Herman Girardin of Memphis, MO.), Velma (Mrs. Martin Mauer of Sac City). He is survived by three children, Elnora Streed, Preston H. Stout, and Harlan G. Stout, all of Sac City; eight grandchildren, David Streed, of Oceanside, Cal., Esther Field and Mark Streed of Odebolt, Mary, who recently joined the Air Force and is based in Alabama, Jane, Paul, Susan, Diane and Rex Stout, all of Sac City; two grandchildren, Darin Streed of Oceanside, Cal., and Jenny Streed of Odebolt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; one sister, Florence (Mrs. Byren Wright of Sac City); two brothers, Clifford and Glen of Sac City and his parents.
