Services for Mrs. Martha Jane Kearns, 94, who died Saturday in Phoenix Medicenter of America, will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kearns, of 126 W. Maryland Ave., was born in Annabella, Utah, and came to Phoenix in 1940. She was [is] a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Cerruti of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Rose Fraham and Mrs. Emma Lee Bailey of Milton-Freewater, Ore., a son, Abbot of Las Vegas, Nev., 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

DISCREPANCIES: With Mattie's birth year between headstone (1879), the 1900 US Census (1880), her Membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints records (1880), and the 1920, 1930, and 1940 Census records as well as their marriage record (1881). No other primary source located, matches the year 1879 on headstone, though obituary does suggest the possibility.
