MORRISDALE - Gard M. Bloom, 73, of Morrisdale R. D. died Friday, Dec. 14, in the Philipsburg State General Hospital.
Mr. Bloom was born in Knox Township on Sept.5, 1900, a son of Clark and Francis (Dorvitt) Bloom.
A retired coal miner, he was a member o the Summit Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Violet Rowles; and four children: Carl of Morrisdale R.D.; Clark of Ellenville, N.Y.; Ray (Jim) of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and Mrs. James (Wilma) Tibbens of Morrisdale R.D.
Also surviving are three brothers, Rex of Philipsburg; Gurney of Olanta R.D.; and Ward of Buffalo, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bloom was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Beryl Bowman, his parents, a daughter, a son, three brothers and one sister.
Friends will be received in the Strange and Weaver Home for Funerals, Deer Creek Road, Morrisdale, from 2 p.m. Sunday until time of services Monday at 2 p.m. Sunday until time of services Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
The Rev. Homer Smith will officiate and interment will follow in Bloomington Cemetery.
