Mr. Ridley was a U.S. Army veteran. He attended New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, and was a former member of Holy Light Church of Deliverance.
The widower of Eunice M. Britt Ridley, he is survived by six daughters, Barbara Saunders and husband, Ernest, Carol Elliott and husband, Tommie, Lynn High, Phyllis Riddick and Denise Godfrey, all of Portsmouth, and Gloria Riddick of Charleston, W.Va.; five sons, Willie C. Ridley Jr., David Ridley, Warren Ridley and James Riddick, all of Portsmouth, and Brien Ridley of Charleston, W.Va.; two sisters, Queen Dixon of Portsmouth and Mattie Heart of Franklin; a brother, James Ridley of Portsmouth; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
