She was born in Russell, Kansas on August 6, 1923, to Gottfried and Amelia "Mollie" (Niedenthal) Stricker. She married Glenn E. She was a longtime resident of Peoria, Illinois and member of University United Methodist Church. She taught in a one room schoolhouse for District #24 in Russell, Kansas for three years and later was employed by Peoria District #150 at Peoria High School for nine years as a records clerk, retiring in 1983. She also did volunteer work for her church and cancer organizations.

Her favorite activities included playing bridge, bowling, golfing, sewing, and attending Bradley basketball games. She enjoyed her dogs, traveling the world, and having a glass of wine.
