Oscar J, "Beatle" Michels, 71, of N11657 County Trunk Y-AY, Brownsville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, of leukemia at his home.

He was born on July 8, 1927, in Fond du Lac, a son of Oscar and Ruth DeVoy Michels. He attended Mayville High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

On Feb. 15, 1958, he married Jean McCulloch at St. Mary's Church in Lomira.

Mr. Michels was a construction worker for Michels Pipeline for 26 years, and also farmed in the Brownsville area for 34 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 347 of Lomira.

Survivors include his wife, Jean, two sons, Joe (Lynn) Michels of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jeff Michels of Pewaukee; two grandchildren, Zane and Candice of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Francis (Annette Michels of Lomira and Richard Michels of Las Vegas, Nev.; and five sisters, Pat (Francis) Kehrmeyer of Fond du Lac, Jean Flor of Menomonee Falls, Janice (Bob) Maultra of Hustisford, Janet (Bud Fischer of Germantown and Sister Mary Jeanne Michels, OSF, of Middleton.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Ruth; his father, Oscar; one brother, Dale; and his step-mother, Ada.

Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lomira. The Rev. Vincent Holubowicz will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.

Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kietzer Funeral Home in Lomira, and from 10:30 a.m. to the time of services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice Hope in Fond du Lac.
