Funeral services for Oscar Michels Sr., 85, formerly of Brownsville and Pickerel Lake, will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. a St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lomira.

Officiating will be Rev. Patrick Higgins, Rev. Keith Perleberg, Rev. Edgar Braun, and Rev. Steve Stradinger. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira.

Mr. Michels died Monday, Dec. 21, 1987, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, here.

He was born June 28, 1902, in the Town of Taycheedah, to Joseph and Anna Stephany Michels. On May 23, 1923, he married Ruth DeVoy who preceded him in death in 1966. On Oct.21, 1967, he married Ada Bernard.

Mr. Michels was employed many years with Brownsville Canning Factory and was then employed with Michel's Pipeline until retiring. He was a member of the Brownsville Lions Club, and former Chief of the Brownsville Fire Department.

He was a former director of Brownsville Community Club, and a former member of St. Mary's Church Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Francis (Patricia) Kehrmeyer of Fond du Lac, Joan Flor and Mrs. Robert (Janice) Maultra, both of Milwaukee, Mrs. Rupert (Janet) Fischer of Germantown, and Sister Mary Jeanne, O.S.F., of Madison; four sons, Jerry, Dale and Richard, all of Brownsville, and Francis of Lomira; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Maxine) Schalinski of Pickerl; one brother, Elmer of Fond du Lac; and one sister, Alvina Grahl of Eden.

Preceding him in death were one brother and one granddaughter.
