Dorothy Lawson Seals, age 88 of Morristown, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Jefferson Park at Dandridge surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and Nana to all who knew her. She was a longtime member of Power House Missionary Baptist Church. She had a boldness to share Jesus with all she came in contact with, whether it be at a restaurant or at a thrift store.

Nana was preceded in death by her husband: Hugh Seals; daughter: Barbara Long; parents: Joe and Volura Lawson; brothers: Charles T. Lawson, M.B. Lawson, J.C. Lawson, her twin: Darius “Bud” Lawson; sisters: Irene Price and Sarah Winstead.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis (Jerry) Cantrell, Patsy (David) Jenkins, and Connie (Jim) Habera, and Howard Long, Jr. Grandchildren: Penny (Randy) Shelnut, Kelly Long (Brooke), Jermey Rader, Katie (Nathan) Baker, and Chelsea Winstead. Great grandchildren: Blake Greene, Lauren Greene and Drew Shelnut. Sister: Sally (Quinton) Herron and brother-in-law: Emory (Naomi) Seals. Special Niece: Annette Seals along with many other nieces, nephews and numerous other family members and friends.

The family would to say a special Thank you to Signature Lifestyle Assisted Living, Dr. Christian Lansing and Jefferson Park at Dandridge for all of the special care they provided not only to Dorothy, but to her family as well.

Family and friends will gather at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Mayes Mortuary to proceed to Hamblen Memory Gardens for a 4:00 PM graveside and interment service. Rev. Lonnie Dalton officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Howard Long, Jr., Jerry Cantrell, David Jenkins, Jim Habera, Kelly Long, Jermey Rader, Randy Shelnut, Jr., Blake Greene, Adam Alder, and Nathan Baker.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Dorothy’s honor to Jefferson Park at Dandridge, 914 Industrial Park Road, Dandridge, TN 37725.
