Mr. Jarvis of 517 E. Second Ave., died Friday in Golden Mesa Nursing Home, where he had been for several months.
He had lived in Sonora, Mexico as a young man, but returned to Snowflake at the turn of the century and moved to Mesa 33 years ago.
Mr. Jarvis, an ordained LDS temple worker, was a former bishop and had served three missions for the church.
Survivors include five sons: Elmer of Cedar City, Utah, James of Downing, California, Anthony of Tempe, Warren of Yuma and Andrew of Panorama City, California; five daughters, Mrs. Millie E. Titus of Anaheim, California, and Mrs. Neola Millett, Mrs. Folvia Porter, Mrs. Birdie Tanner and Mrs. Annie Osborn of Mesa; seven brothers, Lehi of Mesa and the others three sisters out of state; 56 grandchildren; and 124 great-grandchildren. One brother, Lehi, lives in Mesa.

George Josiah Jarvis was born to Frances (Franny) Godfrey DeFrietz and Samuel Walter Jarvis. George Josiah married Mary Ellen Lake on August 15, 1903 in Colonia Juarez, Mexico. They had thirteen children.
