Mr. Jarvis joined the Navy on May 27, 1942 where he trained as a dental technician and subsequently joined the Iwo Jima campaign with the Fifth Marine Division in February of 1945.
He survived Iwo Jima to become a father to 12 children, a grand-father to 59 grand-children and a great-grand-father to 42 great-grand-children.
He also worked 37 years for Arizona city and county Health Departments in Mesa, Tempe, Yuma, Parker and Quartzsite.
Mr. Jarvis is survived by his brother Andrew and his 12 children and his first wife Opal Fuller.
He is preceded in death by his parents George Jarvis and Mary Lake, his brothers Josiah, Emer, Hanson, Anthony, Harold and his sisters Millie, Grace, Neola, Folvia, Birdie, Annie and his second wife Dorothy Haws.
His funeral service will be held Friday, September 24th at 10 AM at the LDS Lehi Stake church building located at 1430 North Grand in Mesa, Arizona. His burial service will be held Friday, September 24th at 5 PM at the Desert Lawn Memorial Park located at 1415 South 1st Avenue in Yuma, Arizona.
