Mary Ellen Jarvis, 90, a native of Forestdale, Arizona who came to Mesa 33 years ago from Snowflake, died Saturday, December 29, in Mesa Lutheran Hospital.
Mrs. Jarvis, 517 E. Second Ave., was active in the Mesa 11th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a visiting teacher and worked in the primary.
Survivors include her husband, George J.; five sons, Emer of Cedar City, Utah; James of Downing, California; Anthony of Tempe; Warren of Yuma and Andrew of Panorama City, California; five daughters, Mrs. Millie E. Titus of Anaheim, California; Mrs. Neola Millett, Mrs. Folvia Porter, Mrs. Birdie Tanner and Mrs. Annie Osborn, all of Mesa; two brothers, Ammon Lake of Willow Creek, California and Willard Lake of Woods Cross, Utah; 56 grandchildren and 156 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Mesa LDS 11th Ward Chapel, with Bishop Henry E. Miller officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Meldrum Mortuary Chapel, 52 N. Macdonald and again one hour prior to services at the Ward Relief Society Room. Burial will be in Mesa Cemetery.

Mary Ellen married George Josiah Jarvis on August 15, 1903 in Colonia Juarez, Mexico.
They had thirteen children.
