Orpha Maude Grubaugh was born in 1879 in Washington township, Gratiot County to Benjamin Franklin Grubaugh and Sarah Ellen Washington. She was the 7th of their 11 children. She spent her entire life in Michigan. She married Augustus Thomas Young on 24 Sep 1898 in Maple Rapids, Clinton County. They had six children - Viva B. Young, Thelma M. Young, Geraldine Young, Bernetta Young, Genevieve Hortense Young, and Robert Young. Augustus died in 1937 and Orpha married a widower, Melvin Paul Haller, on 11 Aug 1941 in Saint Johns, Clinton County. Melvin died in 1959 and Orpha died 5 years later. She never remarried.
