Paul David Ammon, 67, of Charleston, the husband of Patricia Mains Ammon, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 4, 2007. Mr. Ammon was born in Cambridge City, Indiana, a son of Paul Edward Ammon and Evelyn Dorothea Haines Ammon on Friday, May 3, 1940. He was a graduate of Richmond High School, Trident Technical College, received his Masters Degree in Business from Charleston Southern University and honorably served our country in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Ammon was the Group Training Coordinator at the Electrical Shop of the Charleston Naval Shipyard and became a member of the Transition Team of Base Closings here in Charleston and at other bases around the country. He was a member of the Federal Managers Association at the Charleston Naval Shipyard's Chapter 7. Mr. Ammon owned and operated several H & R Block offices located in Walterboro, St. George, Holly Hill and Bamberg. He also taught business courses at Emory Riddle Aeronautics Company and was a charter member of the P.T. Cruisers Club of Charleston. Mr. Ammon most recently was an agent with Prudential Carolina Real Estate Company. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who embraced his wife's family as his own. He made a tremendous impact on the many lives he touched. Mr Ammon is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Mains Ammon; two daughters, Catherine Ammon Abreo and her husband, Ricky; Melissa Ammon Shaw; two grandsons: Matthew Reece Abreo and Brandon Scott Long; a brother: Richard Ammon; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Mains Smith and Suzanne Mains Shierlock; two brothers-in-law: Charles Paul Mains and his wife, Mary; Michael Edward Mains; fondly thought of as a sister-in-law, Jac Tepper and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson: Michael Reed Abreo. The family will receive friendsWednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Paul David Ammon are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the James A. McAlister Chapel.
