Cause of death: tuberculosis
Nancy's actual birth date is questionable. She shows up on documents as being born anywhere from 1841 to 1855. Her name is also documented as Nancy and Annie. I have been attempting to track her down and confirm family stories, but until I find her in 1880 which will confirm facts.

Nancy married Daniel Benjamin Esarey of Perry County, Indiana 19 October 1875. Daniel and Nancy were the parents of two known children, Mary and Margaret. Both children died in early infancy and are buried in Branchville, Perry County, Indiana. The 1880 census for Daniel shows he is living on the farm of Eugene Devillez in Perry County, and Daniel is marked as "married" which was crossed off and remarked as "single," which would indicate the divorce had been filed but was not yet final.

Daniel and Nancy were divorced, and on 13 March 1881 Nancy married George Washington Sinclair II in Crawford County, Indiana. They were the parents of approximately four or five children, Floyd Elbert, Gilbert Elwood, Carrie Ethel, Nancy who died in early infancy, and an unknown infant. This information was given to me by Dolores Beatrice Wright Faulkenburg, granddaughter of Gilbert Sinclair and Annie Sigler. Dorothy had an amazing memory and unfortunately, I did not get enough information from her before she passed away in 2010.

Nancy's date of death is unknown, but Dorothy told me both Nancy and the last baby died from tuberculosis, and that George married again very quickly to find a mother for all his young children. I have estimated Nancy's death date as between 1887-1888 because George married again in 1888 to Julie Woolsey.

Nancy would be buried in Mentor Cemetery with her children and her husband, George. There are many unmarked burial spaces in the Sinclair family lot.

UPDATE: October 1, 2021 - Nancy may have been found on the 1880 census. Nancy Esealy or Eseary is living in Patoka Township (Wickliffe), Crawford County, Indiana as the housekeeper of Nancy (Cosby) Sinclair widow of William Sinclair, and living in the household is Nancy's son George Sinclair and John Linthicum age 12 Servant. Her age on the census is 24, which gives her an approximate birth year of 1856, or anywhere from 1847 to 1856. If this is The correct Nancy, that means she is most likely not the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hollowell. I have removed them as parents until proven. The birth date of 1856 indicates this is may be the Nancy who was living with Daniel Chandler, both Servants, in the Gilliatt home in Orange County, Indiana in 1870. The areas for birthplace of mother and father on the 1880 census are blank. This is Nancy Hollowell.
