Dorothy E. (Emery) Roden Miles, 82, of Lafayette, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Home Hospital. Born in Piedmont, Missouri on November 23, 1924 to the late George W. and Ida B. (Tullis) Emery, she had resided in Lafayette for 10 years and previously in Attica for 40 years. She married Roy Lee Roden, he preceded in death on September 24, 1974. She married Frank W. Miles on September 2, 2001, and he survives. Mrs. Miles worked in Social Services at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Attica for 20+ years and was a journeyman proofreader at Donneley's in Crawfordsville prior to that. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, District Director of Business Professional Women's Club, Eastern Star, Hope Chapter #5,volunteered for Meals on Wheels, collected paperweights, and enjoyed her friends at the Senior Center.

Surviving with her husband are a son: Rick Roden (wife, Cheri) a brother: Jack E. Emery (wife, Inez), and a sister: Mary A. Bennett (husband, Jim) all of Lafayette. Three grandchildren: Dan Roden (partner, Tammy Zelten), Ruthie Fields (husband, Derek), and Robyn Krueger(husband, Nate) and seven great grandchildren also survive. Preceded in death by a grandson, Rick Roden, Jr.

Services were entrusted to Hippensteel Funeral Home of Lafayette, Indiana.
