Herman A. Bouma, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at the age of 93, in the presence of his loved ones at his home.

He was born in 1925, in Bole, Montana and was a WWII veteran of the US Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Nina Bouma; his daughter, Nina Remijn; his brothers and sisters, Pete and Nellie Bouma, Andrew and Marie Bouma, Fran Bouma, Henry and Paula Bouma, Ann and Hugh Greyn, Wulfert Van De Lagemaat; and sons-in-law Bob Daniels and Andrew Mast.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 ½ years, Madelyn (Vissia) Bouma; his children Trudy and Jerry Fluit, Louise Mast, Sharon Martinez, Al and Cheryl Bouma, Ruth and Tim DeVisser, Mathijs Remijn; 32 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Harold and Johanna Bouma, Ralph and Cornelia Bouma, Henrietta Van De Lagemaat, Jennie and John Luteyn, John and Edith Bouma, Fran and Larry Teunissen; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joanne Spaans, John and Lois Vissia.

Funeral services, officiated by Pastor M. Pickett, will be held on Friday, February 8, 11:00 AM, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, with interment following at Fairplains Cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit his family at the funeral chapel, on Thursday, February 7, from 2-4 PM and from 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinitarian Bible Society, 927 Alpine Commerce Park, Suite 100, Grand Rapids, MI 49544.
