C. Goar Altepeter, 93, of Romney, passed away at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital on Thursday January 3, 2019.

He was born in Boswell, IN on July 8, 1925, the son of the late Cyril and Elizabeth (Kult) Altepeter and attended Fowler, IN schools. His first marriage was to Ivadean Hamelman in Oxford, IN on January 31, 1947 and she preceded him in death on July 14, 1995. He later married Eleanor (Zink) Laffoon in Crawfordsville, IN and she survives.

Cyril was a welder for Newton County Stone Company, retiring in 1987, and also farmed for several years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette. Surviving with his wife are two daughters; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from the time of the Rosary at 4:45 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday January 10, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Friday January 11, 2019, with Fr. Cole G. Daily officiatinh. Interment will follow at Boswell Cemetery.
