"The deceased was seventy-seven years of age and was born in this county (Decatur Co., IN/JA) near Milford. He moved his family to Oklahoma in 1901 where he has resided since.
"Mr. Lawson was a member of Co. D., Seventh Indiana regiment and served under Capt. M. C. Welsh all through the great Civil War. He was a son of James Lawson, one of the pioneer residents of Clay township who lived on the farm two miles south of Milford. The funeral was held at his residence on Monday, April 22.
"He is survived by the wife, and six children: sons, Oscar and Clyde, and daughters, Misses Myrtle and Mildred, at Yukon, Okla; W. H. Lawson of near Westport (IN/ja), and Mrs. Lora Pumphrey, of Seymour (IN/ja)"
