CHESTER NELSON
Funeral services for Chester J Nelson, 53, a former Joy resident, were held at 2 p.m. this afternoon, Wednesday, at the Olin Funeral Home in Joy. Rev David Eadie, pastor of the Joy Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Peniel Cemetery, Joy.
Mr Nelson died at 6:30 a.m., Monday, Dec 19, 1977.
He was born Jan 9, 1924, in Orion a son of Charles & Nannie Nelson. He graduated from Joy High School and was of Protestant faith. He never married.
He moved to Moline as a young man and was employed at the John Deere Plow Works.
Mr Nelson is survived by a brother, Herbert of New Boston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
