Mary Helen Martinez, 62, of Stamford, passed away Friday evening, September 7, 2018 in Abilene. Cremation services have been selected and a memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at House of God Church, 802 S. Ferguson Street, Stamford, Texas with Pastor Bobby Acosta officiating.

Mary Helen was born July 18, 1956 in Stamford, Texas, the daughter of the late Ben and Pauline (Ramos) Acosta. She married Arnulfo “A.R.” Martinez on September 1, 1973 in Stamford. A.R. preceded her in death on September 24, 2012. Mary Helen previously worked in home health agencies as a caregiver until her health no longer enabled her to do so. Mary Helen was a loving person and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mary Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Daniel Acosta and a sister, Nancy Chairez.

Surviving Mary Helen are two daughters, Priscilla Sanchez and husband Kevin of Haskell, Jennifer Alexander of Haskell; seven brothers; four sisters; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
