Donald Friederich Harry Bargen, the son of Eilert and Hattie Thedora (Eilers) Bargen, was born on September 2, 1925 on a farm near Cadams, Nebraska. He passed away on August 18, 2018 at the Parkview Haven Nursing Home at Deshler, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 11 months, 16 days.

Donald attended rural school south and west of Nora and graduated from the Nelson High School with the class of 1941. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church north of Superior. He farmed all of his life in the Nora area. When the new Salem Lutheran Church was built Don was chairman of the committee and worked closely with Reinke’s in the construction. He and Norma loved to travel and go on cruises. They wintered for the past 30 years in Mesa, Arizona. In his free time, they Square Danced often. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard and tending to his flowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Albert and three sisters, Wilma Kugler, Norma Elliott and Lorene Saathoff.

He is survived by his wife Norma of Nora, Nebraska, son Tom and wife Patricia of Nora, Nebraska, daughter Carla Proctor and husband Ardell of Pueblo, Colorado two grandchildren, Julie Murdoch and husband Wes of Murdock, Nebraska and Brad Bargen and wife Tammy of Nora, Nebraska and 3 great-grandchildren, Grace and John Murdoch and Kimber Bargen. He is also survived by a brother Lyndall Bargen and wife Bonnie of Nora, Nebraska and a sister Evelyn Moore of Forney, Texas along with a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
