O. D. ADDY, SR. DIES AT 80 Years

Orvy D. Addy, Sr., a life-time resident of Madison county, died Tuesday, Sept 26, at Memorial Hospital here. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Addy was a native of Lee township where he was born Aug. 1, 1892, a son of Alex and Mary F. Howell Addy. He engaged in farming until 1938, when he moved to Winterset.

He was married Jan. 1, 1921, at Winterset to Cettie G. Salisbury who survives him.

Mr. Addy was a veteran of military service and a member of Green-Rogers post of the American Legion. His church membership was with the Jefferson U.B. church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, O. D. Addy, Jr. of Winterset; a granddaughter, Holly Addy; a sister, Mrs. Greta Darrell of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a step-grandson and a step-great grandson.

Funeral services were held Thursday from the collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Walter A. Samp. Burial was made in the Jefferson U.B. cemetery.
