Mr. Wilson Moffatt Dewitt, 96, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 15, at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rick Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

Mr. Dewitt was born July 21, 1921 in Chester County, SC and was a son of the late Moffatt Dewitt and Catherine McWatters Dewitt. He attended the schools of Chester County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. Mr. Dewitt was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by three nephews, Michael Dove and Wayne Peay both of Chester and Steve Peay of Raleigh, NC; one niece, Martha Bright (Jerry) of Chester; and numerous cousins. Mr. Dewitt was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Proctor Dewitt; two brothers, Melvin Dewitt and William Dewitt; and four sisters, Mildred Peay, Frances Peay, Margaret Dove and Janie Wages.
