Funeral services for George Rice, 58, Jackson merchant who died of a heart attack early Thursday morning, will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Monsignor P. O'Reily, of St. Peter's Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Rice died at his home, 317 Spanish Courts. He operated a store on North Grayson Street.
He was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Cedars of Lebanon, having been born in Mount Lebanon, Syria. He had resided in Jackson since 1921.
His widow; one son, Joseph Rice, Jackson; one daughter, Mrs. Alias, Yazoo City, and one brother, Joe Rice, Detroit, Mich., survive.
