MONROE, UTAH –Betty Jo Winget Stewart was called home January 8, 2004.

She was born in Monroe, Utah September 1, 1927 to Luther and Lavinia Winget as one of 11 children. Wanda, Andy, Vera, Frank, Lona, Glenda, Nora, Zenos, Oscar, and Jay Luther. She married Clifton Ralph Stewart on August 26, 1967. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1993.

Betty Jo had four children, Stan (Trish) Larson of Santa Clara, Lynn (Blake) Palmer of Lone Tree, CO, John (Lavona) Larson of Monroe, Jim (Angie) Stewart of Richfield. She was the proud grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of 11. Betty Jo enjoyed a close relationship with her brothers and sisters throughout her life and loved her family dearly.

After a long career in banking, she retired from First Security Bank in Monroe. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many capacities over the years. She was an active member of the Monroe Literose Club where she served as an officer on several occasions.

As a member of the South Sevier Senior Citizen's, Betty Jo held positions as secretary, president and most recently a member of the board.

She is preceded in death by her husband Cliff, her parents, sister Nora and brothers Andy, Zenos, Frank and Jay Luther.

Betty Jo set a courageous example to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all of her many friends and family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 49 East 200 North. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, 50 South 100 West in Richfield, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Monroe on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will take place in the Monroe City Cemetery.
