Funeral services for Peggy Parker Newman, 73, of Winnsboro, will be 11 am Monday, May 14, 2018, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Ferrington officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 am until time of service at the funeral home.
Peggy was born July 14, 1944 in Winnsboro to the union of Issiac David Parker and Rosa Cleo Daughdrill Parker and peacefully passed from the life on May 11, 2018, at her residence in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Parker cherished her children and grand children. She was very sweet, gentle and God minded. She was a loan manager and retired to be able to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Oakla Viola Messina; three brothers: Corky Parker, Charles "Thumb" Parker, and Gary Parker.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, R. S. Newman of Winnsboro; three daughters: Debra Kay Newman of Winnsboro, Linda Newman Sanders and husband Ralph of Gilbert, and Lilith Winborne of Winnsboro; one sister, Shirley Merrill and husband Tommy of Monroe; brother-in-law, Pete Messina of Monroe; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Mullican, John Newman and Ralph Sanders.
