Glenn was born in Alpena on March 5, 1922 to the late Elmer and Florence (Heinold) Hall and married Ellen E. McKay on April 10, 1948. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2014. Glenn served in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed at Baker Sheet Metal until his retirement in 1984 and was well known for his welding repair shop at his home. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion and the 126th Ordnance Company.
Surviving are five children, Joelyn (James) McCallum, Timothy (Ann) Hall, Nancy Mead, Linda (Mike) Murphy, Thomas (Lisa) Hall; four grandchildren, Kelsey (Sam) Carstens, Katie Hall, Chip (Jessica) McCallum, Madison Murphy; four great grandchildren, Jack, Luke, Brooks McCallum, Ophelia Warren; and sister-in-law, Mable Hall.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Phyllis Martin, Marie Doederlein; 3 brothers, Donald Hall, Clare Hall and Ray Hall.
Mr. Hall is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. with military honors accorded him at 5 p.m. by VFW Alpena Post 2496. Visitation will continue on Friday at the First United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Susan Platt officiating.
